der KPÖ vom 29.10.(MUND vom 1.11.):
Laut Presseaussendung der KPÖ versuchte ein Vertreter der neuen
Hausverwaltung des EKH dieses am 23. Oktober zu betreten. Der Grund
sei
gewesen, dass der Beauftragte Wasserschäden inspizieren wollte.
Laut
KPÖ-Aussendung wurde diesem von BewohnerInnen des EKH der Zutritt
verweigert.
Grundsätzlich begrüssen wir es natürlich, wenn die
neue Hausverwaltung
sich um Schäden im Haus kümmert. In den vergangenen Jahren
mussten die
BewohnerInnen des EKH sich um alles selbst kümmern, da ja die
KPÖ-Hausverwaltung ihren Pflichten nicht nachkam. Der beschriebene
Sachverhalt in der neuen KPÖ-Aussendung kommt uns jedoch etwas
fragwürdig vor. Laut Auskunft der KPÖ sowie der neuen
Hausverwaltung
Petri & Co ist die Übernahme der Hausverwaltung erst mit
1. November
wirksam. Petri & Co kann also schwerlich vor diesem Termin Zutritt
in
das EKH verlangen. Weiters müssen wir feststellen, dass im
EKH bis heute
keine Nachricht über einen Besichtigungstermin eingelangt ist.
Sollte
die Hausverwaltung Petri & Co eine Besichtigung wünschen,
so erwarten
wir eine vorherige schriftliche Verständigung.
Wenn wir nun diesen Sachverhalt berücksichtigen, dann erscheint
es uns
mehr als zweifelhaft, dass die Hausverwaltung bzw. der Hausbesitzer
diese angebliche Besichtigung als Kündigungsgrund anführt.
Dass nun die
KPÖ diese Argumentation übernimmt, zeugt von ihrer politischen
Verzweiflung den Verkauf zu rechtfertigen. Sollte die KPÖ bei
den
Vertragsverhandlungen Übergangsfristen für die BewohnerInnen
des EKH
vereinbart haben, so werden diese wohl im Vertragswerk inkludiert
sein.
Wir fordern die KPÖ an dieser Stelle erneut auf, sich der politischen
Verantwortung zu stellen und den Vertrag den NutzerInnen des EKH
zur
Verfügung zu stellen.
Erneut müssen wir feststellen, dass die KPÖ die Tatsache
nicht zur
Kenntnis nehmen will, dass der Geschäftsführer des neuen
Hausbesitzers
eine rechtsextreme Vergangenheit hat. Trotz eindeutiger Beweise
(siehe:
http://ekhbleibt.info/ekh/info/1099044325) und einer Bestätigung
des
Dokumentationsarchivs des österreichischen Widerstandes leugnet
die KPÖ
weiter. Offensichtlich geht es der KPÖ-Führung nur darum,
den
innerparteilichen Widerstand unter Kontrolle zu halten.

Linke feiert Wahlerfolg in Uruguay - Vazquez bei rund 50 Prozent
Montevideo, 01. Nov (Reuters) - Bei den Wahlen in Uruguay
hat die politische Linke ersten Ergebnissen vom Montag zufolge
einen historischen Erfolg errungen.
Nach Auszählung etwa der Hälfte aller Stimmzettel liegt
der
linke Präsidentschaftskandidat Tabare Vazquez mit fast 50
Prozent vor seinen konservativen Gegnern, die auf 38 und elf
Prozent der Wählerstimmen kommen. Auch in beiden
Abgeordnetenkammern sah es nach einem Wahlsieg von Vazquez
Koalition aus Sozialisten, Sozialdemokraten, Kommunisten und
ehemaligen Guerilla-Mitgliedern aus. Mit einem Wahlsieg der
Linken hätte diese die 170 Jahre andauernde Herrschaft der
zwei
traditionellen Parteien des Landes - der Blancos und Colorados -
vorerst beendet. Nach Brasilien, Argentinien, Chile und
Venezuela entschiede sich damit ein weiteres südamerikanisches
Land zur Ablösung einer von den USA gestützten
Freimarkt-Politik, die vielerorts zu wirtschaftlichem Chaos
geführt hat.
Vazquez erklärte sich selbst wenige Stunden nach der Wahl
zum Gewinner. "Wir werden am Morgen mit der Arbeit am
politischen Umschwung beginnen, denn wir haben keine Zeit zu
verlieren", sagte er Reportern. Anhänger feierten den
64-Jährigen, der sich für mehr soziale Gerechtigkeit und
Wohlstand einsetzen will, mit Straßenumzügen. Zwar erholt
sich
Uruguays Wirtschaft langsam von der jüngsten Krise, dennoch
lebt
rund ein Drittel der Bevölkerung unterhalb der Armutsgrenze.
Etwa 100.000 meist junge Menschen sind ausgewandert, weil sie
keine wirtschaftliche Zukunft für sich sahen.
Beobachter gingen am Montag davon aus, dass Vazquez die
notwendige Stimmenanzahl von 50 Prozent erhält, um das
Präsidentenamt schon in der ersten Runde zu erobern. Viele
der
noch nicht ausgezählten Stimmen kommen aus der Hauptstadt
Montevideo, die als Hochburg der Vazquez-Anhänger gilt.

Die erste Presseerklärung des venezuelanischen Wahlrat es gibt
folgendes
Ergebnis für die Gouverneurswahlen vom 31. Oktober bekannt

Esparta) hat die rechtsgerichtete Opposition demnach sämtliche
Provinzregierungen verloren. Zuvor hielt sie acht Provinzen (Anzoategui,

Yaracuy, Zulia) und die MVR 15 (Amazonas, Aragua, Barinas, Cojedes,

of Gainesville
Citizens for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. This was not the
first
time we both showed up for alternative (other than DP) action and
found
ourselves paired. As we drove to our get-out-the-vote canvass area,
Bonnie
talked about how her 18-year-old brother was killed in WWII, and
what a
hole that created in the life of her family. Now retired and more
active
then ever, Bonnie is working with "Election Protection"

in Jacksonville these last few days. She has many issues, but high
among
them is (my words) stopping BUSH from creating more holes in more

- the
true agenda of Bush's Evangelical Christian heart and base.
Sunday I was out welcoming Republicans on their way in to the Bush
rally in
Gainesville. Many undecideds and dems were among the crowd - just
going to
get a rare glimpse of the person who happens to be in office. A
good
number of such people made it a point to tell me exactly that. Several
asked me for signs and buttons to take with them, which I advised
against,
because anyone who did not express loyalty to Cheney and his puppet
was
either not allowed in or escorted out! No dissent allowed! See

I left
as Air Force One was landing so as to get back home in time to carve
my
pumpkin and be ready for trick-or-treaters. That was fun. But the
scary
part was reading details and evidence about Bush's Evangelical Christian
agenda in the new Playboy magazine as I waited for the sparse groups
of
Halloween practitioners (not a lot of kids on my street, but those
who
came made out *real* good - with handfulls of Snickers and 3 Musketeers!).
THIS Morning (Monday) at 7:15am I found myself on a corner at one
of the
nearby major intersection with Mrs. Welcome, who was waving a Kerry
sign as
I held up my
"Bush/Truth" http://www.exposebush.com/image.html sign.
Mrs. Welcome
recently retired after teaching for 41 YEARS at the nearby high
school. She knew many of the people driving and walking by, and
they knew
her. We got to talking, and she was telling me about her Evangelical
Christian daughter, whose pastor had essentially commanded his flock
to
vote for Bush as a way to express opposition to gay marriage. It's
frightening, and it has frightened Mrs. Welcome and put a scar on
an
otherwise wonderful relationship with her daughter. This veteran
civil
rights activist could not convince her daughter away from her single-issue
Christian agenda, and that is frightening. Tunnel vision voting
is where
Bush will gain most of the few African American votes that he will
get.
SO, now I'm taking a break before heading back out to the streets.
Before I get to the El Dia De Los Muertos ACTION, I'm going to borrow
some
final words from one of those Evangelicals, and with JUST ONE WORD
turn it
towards peace, love and justice for ALL people, not just Born Again
Christians and Right Wing Catholics (who incidentally, if Bush,
Ashcroft,
etc. have their way will be burning in hell with the rest of us
heathens). My addition is in ALL CAPS.
Tomorrow is "Judgment Day" in America.
God does not normally judge nations by sending down fire and brimstone.
Rather, He judges them by allowing them to live with the consequences
of
their own choices. As our bishops have written, "We get the
public
officials we deserve. Their virtue -- or lack thereof -- is a judgment
not
only on them, but on us. Because of this, we urge our fellow citizens
to
see beyond party politics, to analyze campaign rhetoric critically,
and to
choose their political leaders according to principle, not party
affiliation or mere self-interest" (Living the Gospel of Life,
34).
You may have worked very hard to prepare for this year's elections,
and I
thank you for that. But today and tomorrow are the days we have
to work
the hardest! I encourage you to make a fervent, prayerful, energetic
final
push, and get as many people as possible to vote for those who will
advance the culture of ***ALL*** life.Many don't understand what

EL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
TOMORROW is El Dia De Los Muertos (The Day of The Dead).
"The Day of the Dead is celebrated in Mexico (and in many other
places) on
November 2nd. It is a time when families spend time at the cemetery,
visiting the graves of their relatives, cleaning and perhaps painting
the
headstones, arranging flowers, especially flowers of the dead (marigolds)
and lighting candles. It is also the time when families construct
special
home altars dedicated to the spirits of their deceased loved ones.
The
altars range from simple to very elaborate and are usually filled
with
objects that provided pleasure to the departed person in life, including
favorite food and drink. Altars dedicated to the spirits of deceased
children often include toys, candy and other sweets." (From

I never knew about it until I went to work for the family of Cesar
Chavez
at the headquarters of the United Farm Workers of America, AFL-CIO,
where I
lived from 1994-1996. The focus on El Dia De Los Muertos was always
on
the "UFW Martyrs," workers killed in struggle for human
rights. We in the
abolition movement should consider participating in this celebration
as a
way to recognize and celebrate the lives of those lost both to criminal
murder and state sponsored exterminations.

burning... My candle was for the dead in Afghanistan and Iraq. The
people
of that part of the world have suffered way too much. Our host Peggy
said
that her candle was for the end of the Bush campaign. And there
