The weekly Thursday's demonstration on 25th of April 2019 in Vienna against the right-extremist government in Austria will remember on the violent death of Marcus Omofuma during a forced deportation on 1st of Mai 1999. 20 Years later, on the 1st of May 2019, protesters will ralley to end all deportations!
Thursday's demonstration on 25th of April 2019 in Vienna
20 years ago, Marcus Omofuma was killed on a deportation plane. Because he was screaming, he was suffocated to death by Austrian police.
That's why this Thursday's demo on April 25th says: No Borders, No Nations, Stop Deportations!
Among others, a Chechen group of deportation opponents will participate, but there are also numerous live music inputs and speeches by other nationalities. Be there!

Meeting point at 6 p.m. in front of the police detention centre Rossauer Lände @ Oskar-Morgenstern-Platz. The Demonstrationn moves to the Platz der Menschenrechte (place of human rights, Junction Mariahilfer Straße / Museumsquartier MQ), where the Marcus Omofuma Stone is located. The demonstration will end up with a manifestation at Schillerplatz in front of the academy of fine arts vienna.

Call for Demonstration and to Stop Deportations by Chechen Refugees
Dear sisters and brothers living in Austria. We ask you to come and take part in the rally 25.04.2019, 6 p.m., Vienna, Oscar-Morgenstern-Platz.
No need to wait until they knock on our doors and send them to Putin's Russia. We must bring to the public the truth for violating the convention. The authorities quietly observe and see our passivity in the process of deportation, and their actions increase with each passing day.
Our Youth and men are deported and prepared for deportation. We must confront and defend our rights. With Respect to you , chechen refugees!
1st of Mai 2019 – 20 Years after: Omofuma, this was murder! Against racist police violence
On the 1st of Mai 2019 we will go to the streets to rember those who are killed day by day through the politics of Fortress Europe - inside and on the externalised borders. And we will be in the streets for a good live for everybody, for a society in which people can be different without fear. Therefor the 1st of May stands for a day of action of the opressed and exploited.
