AK Kraak ist kein Fernseh-, sondern ein Tiefsehmagazin: wir schauen dort genauer hin wo andere nur Klischees bedienen. Wir sind Teil des weltweiten sozialen Aufbruchs zu medialer Selbstbestimmung. Ganz dicht dran und und gleichzeitig distanziert spielen wir mit den Absurditäten der Macht, prangern Ungerechtigkeiten an und haben Spass dabei.

Die autofocus videowerkstatt wurde 1988 mit dem Ziel gegründet, in Berlin ein Medienzentrum aufzubauen um Medienarbeit und politische Arbeit miteinander zu verbinden. Die Schwerpunkte unserer heutigen Arbeit sind die Produktion von Dokumentarfilmen und -videos und der Verleih engagierter unabhängiger Filme auf Video.

Indyvideo Network is an independent media group consists of activists with the aim to provide video support to NGOs and cultural communities in the following fields: ecology, rights-defending activities, independent and alternative culture. Since such organisations and communities in Russia and former USSR countries are very poorly equipped, they are not able to produce non-commercial multimedia and film projects of their own and exchange visual information on their activities. Our group consists of activists who have experience in working at TV channels, programming, web design, and tutoring skills involving multimedia equipment. We have created an independent media center specializing in production of video information on the forementioned projects and initiatives. We also have an independent open-shelf video archive, and currently we are preparing a website where short samples of every piece of material stored in the archive shall be available. Members of our network who contribute to the archive can receive video compilations on desired subject on VHS. Our future plans include elaboration of methods and technique for video activists which is going to be published in the form of a CD-ROM and distributed free of charge within our network.

PTTV programs analyze and critique issues involving media, culture and politics. The shows feature scholars, community activists, critics and journalists addressing the ideological assumptions and the social meanings of the mainstream media as well as exploring the opportunities for alternative communications sources. Many programs examine a particular aspect of the communications industry, from print media to TV to movies, looking at its impact on public perception and opinion. Other videos represent the people and views which are largely absent from the mainstream media. The goal of the work is to provide viewers with a critical understanding of the communications industry. This critical consciousness is a necessary step towards more equitable and democratic control of information resources. (en)
