---------------------------------------------------
The demo (legally announced at the police) this time is on saturday, not thursday: Start at Sigmund-Freud-Park at 1 pm (former protest camp site, U2 Schottentor).

Communities of all Austrian minorities unite and fight! We are all foreigners - nearly everywhere!

Everybody present from the different communities, initiatives, political organisations, trade unions, etc. tries to mobilize its own organisations and spread it in his/her environment.
We will not be divided!

The demonstation will start at 13:00 at Sigmund-Freud-Park under the slogan "Solidarity with the refugees! We are all one!". We will then move to the ring, making a short rally in front of the Marcus-Omofuma-Denkmal (at Museumsquartier) and then move over to the Mariahilferstraße.

As we talked about the importance to make this protest an Austrian-wide and European-wide protest, we are planning to make a large-scale demonstration on February 16th, 2013. There are already similar protests and statements of solidarity on a European level (for example in Berlin, Brussels, etc ...), so the idea is to plan a Europe-wide action with demonstrations or solidarity actions in lots of European cities.

Solidarity with the fight of refugees in Votiv church and everywhere! You cannot silence us!

Vier Asylaktivisten in Schubhaft
"We will not give up, we will exercise our democratic right!"

Four activists detained
Vienna (OTS) - Since Monday jan. 14th, Hussain Mazhar, Gondal Sohaib, Asef Mehmood and Mohamed Absalam, four refugee camp activists, have been detained - a fatal sign on the part of the Viennese police. On the 12th of January police, following an anonymous call, had entered by force into a place being used by students. Several people with precarious residence status were arrested, 4 were brought to the police detention center at Hernalser Gürtel and taken in deportation custody. All 4 are under urgent threat of deportation.
The detainees are in danger of being deported to Pakistan, or rather, to Hungary in accordance with the Dublin II regulation, a practice which has been condemned several times by the UNHCR. "We will not give up, we will exercise our democratic right!" said Hussain Mazhar. The activists are continuing their hunger strike in detention.

The refugee protest camp demands the immediate release of the arrested refugees, as well as the return of the parties responsible to the negotiating table.

Let's fight together for the immediate release of our friends! We'll carry on together! No one must be deported or left behind in prison!
