Am Samstag, 2. März 2002 wurde das Büro der Cameroon Airlines in Brüssel von Mitgliedern des "Collectif de R"©sistance aux Centres ferm"©s et aux Expulsions (Kollektiv gegen geschlossene Zentren und Abschiebungen)", des "Vluchtelingen Aktie Komitee (Flüchtlingsaktions-Komitee)" und des "Collectif de R"©sistance aux Centres Pour "‰trangers (Kollektiv gegen Abschiebezentren)" besetzt. Diese direkte und gewaltfreie Aktion richtete sich gegen die gewaltsame Abschiebepolitik der belgischen Behörden. Cameroon Airlines ist eine der eifrigsten UnterschätzerInnen dieser Politik.

Während der letzten Wochen wurden einige Berichte von Leuten gesammelt, die mit Cameroon Airlines gewaltsam und illegal nach Douala in Kamerun abgeschoben worden waren. Besonders wichtig war die Information über eine Person, die am 26. Jänner ohne die erforderlichen Reisedokumente nach Kamerun abgeschoben wurde, diese Abschiebung war de facto illegal. Die betreffende Person "verschwand" unmittelbar nach ihrer Ankunft in Kamerun. Weiters gibt es einen Bericht über eine Person, die mit Handschellen und verklebtem Mund am 9. Februar abgeschoben wurde.

Als ein Vertreter von Cameroon Ailines mit diesen fällen konfrontiert wurde war seine Reaktion nur: "Wenn er nach Hause zurückkehrt kostet er uns nur Geld" - ohne Kommentar zum Mangel an Respekt für Angehörige des eigenen Landes.

Mit der symbolischen Besetzung wollten die beteiligten Gruppen Druck auf Cameroon Airlines ausÃŒben, sofort ihre "Kollaboration" mit den belgischen Behörden zu stoppen. Weiters sollte die belgische Öffentlichkeit, potentielle KundInnen und die GeschäftspartnerInnen von Cameroon Airlines über die Art von Aktionen informiert werden, die von diesem Unternehmen durchgeführt werden.

Abgesehen vom konkreten Fall der Cameroon Airlines wurde eine klare Warnung an alle anderen Fluglinien, die ebenfalls in der belgischen Abschiebepolitik mitspielen, gesandt. Die beschriebene Aktion war speziell an Cameroon Airlines gerichtet. Die beteiligten Gruppen sind aber bereit für neue Aktionen um das "Deportation-Business" zu denunzieren. Weitere Aktionen können auch gegen andere Unternehmen gerichtet werden, die vom "Abschiebe-Business" profitieren.

Die Aktion gab Gelegenheit, Forderungen an die belgischen Behörden und an alle, die die Festung Europa verteidigen und deren KomplizInnen, zu wiederholen:

Stop aller Abschiebungen
Schließung aller Schubgefängnisse
Bleiberecht für alle Illegalisierten

This Saturday, the 2nd of March 2001 at 1030h members of the "Collectif de R"©sistance aux Centres ferm"©s et aux Expulsions", the "Vluchtelingen Aktie Komitee" and the "Collectif de R"©sistance Aux Centres Pour "‰trangers" have decided to occupy the offices of Cameroon Airlines located at Mont des Arts 16 in 1000 Bruxelles.
This direct and non-violent action is directed against the Belgian
authorities¹ policy of violent deportations of which Cameroon Airlines is one of the most zealous supporters.

During the last weeks we have been able to assemble a number of witness reports concerning violent and illegal deportations on Cameroon Airlines flights to Douala in Cameroon. Especially, we have precise in formations about a person that was deported on Saturday the 26th of January without the required travel documents having been issued by the Cameroonian authorities, so that the deportation was in fact illegal. This Person has "disappeared" directly after arriving in Cameroon. We also have witness reports about another person who was handcuffed and had his mouth taped in order to suppress all efforts of resistance during
his deportation on Saturday the 9th of February.

When we confronted a Cameroon Airlines representative with one of these cases, his reaction was: "If he returns home, he is only costing us money" ...without comment on the lack of respect of Cameroon Airlines for the citizens of its own country...

By this symbolic occupation we want to pressure Cameroon Airlines to immediately stop its "collaboration" with the Belgian authorities and we want to inform the Belgian public as well as the customers and commercial partners of Cameroon Airlines about the sort of actions that this company is committing.

Apart from the concrete case of Cameroon Airlines, we hope to send a clear warning to other Airlines that are actively participating in the Belgian governments` deportation policy. While today`s action is specifically directed at Cameroon Airlines, we are ready to come in action again to denounce the "deportation business". We are ready to use today`s and other forms of actions against all other airline companies that are active profiteers of the "deportation business".

Today`s action gives us the opportunity repeat our demands directed at the Belgian authorities and all those defending the fortress Europe and their accomplices:

Stop all deportations
Close all detention Centers
regularisation of all sans-papiers!
