On 14th of June 2016 Anmesty International published following report about the situation of migrants and refugees in Lybia. Instead of granting migrants and refugee rights, the European Union want's a more closer cooperation with Lybian authorities to make the journey to Euorpe more dangerous - and to detain thousands of people under inhuman conditions before they even reach European territory.

Die Kooperation der EU mit Libyen zur Flüchtlings- abwehr führt "direkt oder indirekt zu schockierenden Menschenrechts- verletzungen". Dies erklärt die Menschenrechtsorganisation Amnesty International in einem aktuellen Bericht zur Misshandlung von Flüchtlingen durch die libysche Küstenwache und in libyschen Haftzentren, in denen Flüchtlinge interniert werden.

 
 

The report "Beyond Imagination. Asylum seekers testify life in Libya" was published by the Jesuit Refugee Service Malta in January 2014. It informs about the situation of migrants and refugees in Libya and the push-backs by Malta (and Italy) to "a very dangerous place for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees (...) where they face a real risk of inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment".
